Protect
your Pet
By law your dog has to wear a collar and also an engraved disc (or
tag) with your contact telephone number. Many pets are lost each
day, and council pounds only have to keep your dog 7 days before
it can be put to sleep or rehomed, for this reason if you go away
on holiday you should get a separate tag made with alternative contact
numbers in case you cannot be reached. A collar and tag can easily
come lose or be removed, so in addition you should get your
pet microchipped. If you have lost a pet please visit the
lost dogs page.
You can get your pet microchipped from as little as
£10 and it will protect your pet for the rest of it's life.
Whenever vets, dog wardens, rescues, council pounds or other animal
officials come into contact with your pet it will be scanned and
your loving pet returned to you.
Pets give so much affection and joy to us, for just
a small fee you can ensure that your pet is properly registered
to you which will help reunite you if they ever get lost. Many people
never think it will happen to their pet, so please get it done now
just to be safe. There are so many unclaimed dogs picked up by local
dog wardens across the country, if these pets were microchipped
the stray dog situation would be better improved. All dogs at the
rescue are microchipped to Animal Allsorts Rescue.
Animal Allsorts isn't able to microchip pets for people
but uses Cavan
Vets locally.
